Before the release of film Udta Punjab,I should share the latest information that Bengal is also no less inflicted with drugs.Today, we had to live without electricity in Sodepur for six and half hour just because a 25 year old young man broke in the underground transformer to get the metal to buy drugs and ended his life electrocuted. Police reached the spot almost four hours late though it happened just before the nose of the Police Chowki and the spot is a busy area near the Railway station.

The identity of the young man is unknown.But you may see them anywhere in Kolkata ,suburban localities,district towns and specifically in border areas across border.It is the way the youth is lost.

Nothing to be gained hiding the social realism.Unemployed educated youth belonging to well to do or hand to mouth families succumb so miserably in free market economy and we may not help them.We may not mourn for this drug addicted generation next.I may not write more at present.

सेंसर बोर्ड ने ‪#‎UdtaPunjab‬ की रीलीज पर मुहर तो लगा दी है, लेकिन बेमन से. बोर्ड ने सर्टिफिकेट पर लिखा है कि यह फिल्म उसने नहीं, माननीय उच्च न्यायालय ने पास की है. लेकिन क्या यह परिपाटी सही है? सेंसर बोर्ड को उदार और सेंसेटिव होना चाहिए. इसे सरकार से स्वायत्त होना चाहिए और इसके लिए एक आंदोलन की ज़रूरत है.
